Moving Tips
- Take down notes so you would know where you put certain items and put labels to your boxes. When the boxes come together, they will all look the same so labels will help you sift through them after unloading of the shipment.
- Pack dishes around their edges, surrounded by bubble wrap to better assure they survive un-chipped nor broken.

- Pack one room at a time, labeling each box with a specific description of its contents with marker and it's designated room (i.e. kitchen, master bedroom). Unpacking will be much easier.
- Boxes should be a manageable weight. Heavier items kept individually in smaller boxes will be easier to carry.
- Avoid taping polished or painted wood finishes, as the surfaces could easily be ruined when removing the tape.
- Go ahead and double-box fragile items and add plenty of extra cushioning.
- Pack essential items for each person - such as toiletries, a toothbrush, glasses, medications, a towel, pajamas and a change of clothes. Each family member should have a separate bag to carry with them for the first night in your new home.
- Prepare a snack for your first night, such as pretzels, fruit, individualized tuna meals and crackers.
- It's advisable to bring along plastic cups and utensils, paper plates and towels, toilet paper, trash bags, a flashlight, first aid kit, pain relievers, pencil and paper, re-closable plastic bags and a small tool kit for re-assembling odd-and-ends.
