Local Moves
Local moves occur within the same state and are handled by our professional, uniformed crew on modern 26 ft. truck(s). These moves are usually completed the same or next day, depending upon the circumstances.
Our dedicated movers are trained professionals who take pride in their work and handle your belongings with the utmost care. All your furniture will be protected from head-to-toe with padded blankets, tape and stretch wrapping before leaving your home. When needed, floors runners will be used to protect from scuffs and scrapes. In addition, belongings which require disassembly and reassembly will be ensured a safe arrival. There is never a charge for these services as they are provided to our customers as a courtesy.
As required by law, Regions Van Lines is licensed by the Department of Transportation (US DOT 1614273), state of Florida (Fla. Mover Registration #IM1482) and Miami-Dade County (Moving Registration #MR553) to perform intrastate (local) moves. A licensed mover has filed for workman’s compensation, liability and cargo insurance with state authorities.
Let's Get Moving...
To start your move, the assigned uniformed crew will arrive at your home at the scheduled time and the foreman will introduce himself. Then, he'll thoroughly inspect your home and all the goods to be loaded onto our truck.
Once evaluated, all the listed items will be completely wrapped and loaded onto the moving truck. When the truck arrives at your destination, the crew will efficiently unload your goods and carry them into your new location (home or office), un wrap and re assemble the furniture and place all items in their desired locations, with your guidance. The driver will then conduct a physical inspection of the truck's inside to ensure all your goods have been received, with you in attendance.
The standard hourly rate for local moves is based on:
- the number of crew members assigned
- number of trucks you'll require
- property conditions at both places
The costs will be calculated on the amount of items being moved. Overall charges are broken into four (4) components, outlined as follows:
1a. Labor - On every local move which ends within one (1) hour driving time from origin (1st location) to destination (final location), standard hourly rates are broken into 15 minute increments. The clock starts upon the crew's arrival at your first location and is stopped when the job is completed (including the driving time between the two (2) locations).
1b. Labor - On local moves which take more than one (1) hour driving time from origin (1st location) to destination (final location), standard hourly rates are broken into 15 minute increments. The clock starts upon the crew's arrival at you first location and is temporary stopped when loading into our truck is completed. The time clock is started again when the truck arrives at your final destination and is stopped when the job is completed.
2a. Travel time - On every local move which ends within one (1) hour driving time from origin (1st location) to destination (final location), a mandatory one (1) hour return travel time charge is billed above the movers labor time. There is no fuel and mileage charge on this type of move.
2b. Travel time - On local moves which take more than one (1) hour driving time from origin (1st location) to destination (final location), the actual time our crew takes to drive to your new home (and the same time for driving back) is billed into the total travel time charge. For example, a move from Miami, FL to Orlando, FL taking our crew four (4) hours to drive up will be billed for a combined eight (8) hours total travel time -associated with the fuel and mileage charge.

3. Packing materials - Regions Van Lines does not charge for its use of protective, padded blankets, tape, stretch wrap and floor runners, when needed, during your move. Floor runners protect from scuffs and scratches during handling.

4. Insurance - The moving industry requires licensed movers to "cover" belongings for unforeseen damage at .60 cents per pound per item valuation coverage at no extra charge, regardless of the value.
