International Moves
Moves outside the continental US (including Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico) are considered international moves. These moves require more advance planning than local or long distance moves.
Proper documentation plays an increasingly important part in international moves, due to heightened security requirements. You can rely on your assigned relocation specialist's expertise to guide you through identifying the necessary permits and completing the appropriate paperwork. Late or delayed receipt may cause unwanted delays to your shipment. Please call us for further details.
International quotes can be done in person with a visual survey or over the phone. Special allowances must be made for added transit times, the necessary paperwork and the various customs regulations existing between the United States and foreign country involved.
Our network of experienced freight forwarders can arrange moves to any foreign country, door-to-door.
Cost estimates to overseas destinations are based on the total household or office goods weight and cubic feet once packed for shipment. It includes ocean transportation charges, packing and unpacking services within 20' or 40' containers.
It does NOT include storage, appliance servicing, customs duties, liability coverage, extra pick up or delivery charges.
What not to move:
Items such as plants, foods and flammables cannot be moved internationally. Custom regulations of the destined country identify any boycotted manufactures or prohibited materials, such as liquors, fire arms or ammunition. Contact the nearest Consular General of the destination country to obtain a copy of their customs regulations.
Custom duties for importation of automobiles vary from country to country and are sometimes extremely high.
Pets are forbidden in some countries and others may require an entry permit. Health and rabies certificates or a quarantine period of up to six months or longer is sometimes required at the owner’s expense.
We do not transport pets; please contact your airline for details.
